Belgium’s Derwael takes gold in uneven bars

Nina Derwael of Belgium won the uneven bars final at the Tokyo Olympics yesterday. The 21-year-old scored 15.200 points to finish first, ahead of Russian Olympic Committee’s Anastasiia Iliankova in 14.833 points. Sunisa Lee of the United States took bronze in 14.500 points.

Derwael is a two-time world champion and a two-time European champion on the uneven bars. She competed at the 2016 Games, finishing 19th in the allaround final.
