My favourite sport - Swimming

My favourite sport is swimming. I started swimming when I was 3 years old and have been swimming ever since.

Swimming is a sport for all ages. It’s a lifetime activity which brings relaxation to the body and mind.

It also helps build muscles, good body also a very competitive sport which takes lots of practice to improve your speed, style and time. There are four main strokes in swimming, they are and Breaststroke. My best stroke is Freestyle.

I daily practice my swimming skills. I love to start my day with swimming practices as it makes me refreshed throughout the day. On school days I practice at 6 a.m. At weekends I start practice at 8 a.m. Sometimes I practice in the evening from 4 p.m., to 6 p.m.

I’m an Under 11 swimming team member in my school. I have achieved swimming.

My most recent best achievement was winning 3rd Place in the Individual Medley at the Rinuhi Swimming Meet 2020.

Due to quarantine, I miss swimming a lot but I try my best to keep up my speed, by doing land training exercises. I want to be a swimmer like Michael Phelps one day and bring honour to my country Sri Lanka and my school.
