National Savings Bank joins 2020 GCE Ordinary Level Excellence

A ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education under the patronage of the Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Education, to recognise the 61 students who excelled at the GCE Ordinary Level examination in the year 2020. Hon Yadamini Gunawardena and Hon Anupa Pascual, Members of the Parliament representing the Consultative Committee on the Ministry of Educat i o n , Secretary to the Ministry of Education Prof. Kapila Perera and a number of officials and principals representing the schools were also present at the occasion.

It is noteworthy that the girl and the boy who achieved the highest results at the provincial level along with the 10 children who secured the highest marks in the island were invited to this event.

National Savings Bank, being a Bank that always performs its duties on behalf of children, who hold the future of our country, also opened NEO accounts to recognise these outstanding achievers .

Mr. Ajith Peiris, General Manager and CEO of National Savings Bank and Mr. Lal Karunatilake, Deputy General Manager (Marketing) were also present at the occasion, representing NSB. In addition, the National Savings Bank is launching a similar island-wide Scholarship Awards Programme for the 20th year , for students appearing for the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination .
