‘Sokari’ in Town

‘Sokari’ an old Sri Lankan folk drama which was formed according to the rural traditions of Shanthikarmas that were performed to goddess Paththini seeking fertility and prosperity will be staged at 3.30 pm and 6.45 pm on February 6 at Namel Malini Punchi Theatre.

This play which was enacted throughout the nights for 7 days in the past will be staged once again with a new set of actors enhancing the characteristics of the play such as choreography and makeup with special attention given for background and costume designs as well.

‘Sokari’ runs for two hours and thirty minutes and it contains of ancient characteristics that could be appreciable to everyone. This play is directed by award winning director Jaliya Rajapakshe. All seats are box planned and tickets are now available at the theatre gate.
