Zahira College OBA ‘Sports Extravaganza’ in full swing

The Old Boys’ Association (OBA) of Zahira College is in the process of organising an annual ‘Sports Extravaganza’ which is a series of sporting events in line with its Annual Fellowship Day Programme. The badminton event took place on September 24 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium while the bowling at the Excel World Bowling Alley on September 25 respectively.

Adding glamour to the series of sporting events, a go karting event has been planned to be held at Port City on October 1.

All other events cricket, football, rugby, hockey, swimming, table tennis, rifle shooting, 8-ball pool and a ‘Do You Know Contest’ have been planned to be held on October 2 at Zahira College premises. There are nearly 40 affiliated groups and batches from the 1960s era to the recently left old boys of 2020 who will be battling it out for the ‘President Shield ‘.

The President of the OBA, Alavi Mukthar, Secretary Nuzri Munsoor along with Project Chairman Azhar Salahudeen and the Executive Committee are making elaborate arrangements for the grand finale on October 2.

The closing day will be graced by

Sujith de Alvis, the CEO of Hayleys Fentons, as the chief guest, along with the Chairman of Board of Governors Fouzul Hameed, Principal Trizvy Marrikar and other stakeholders of OBA. Hayleys Solar has come forward as platinum sponsor while Bristol Institute comes in as gold sponsor for the event while Variety, Hameed Sadik Foundation and Futsal World are category sponsors.
