Ritzbury Sir John Tarbat Schools Athletic Championship

Lyceum International School Wattala wins the Boy’s Championship Walala A Ratnayaka MMV Clinches Girl’s Championship

Ritzbury sponsored 90th Sir John Tarbat Schools Senior Athletic Meet was concluded (16th September) at the Mahinda Rajapakse Stadium successfully .This championship was conducted by the Sri Lanka School Athletics Association and commenced on 13th September . Around 6000 athletes from 638 schools took part during the four day event .

Lyceum International School Wattala which received 128 points clinched the Boy’s Championship while St.Peter’s College, Colombo with 62 points became the runners up .

Girl’s Championship winners were Walala A. Ratnayaka MMV with 161 points and Lyceum International School,Wattala which received 119 points became the runners up .

Isuru Kaushalaya of Ananda Shasthralaya and H.M.N.Madhushani of Nannapuruwa vidyalaya received the Trophy presented to the best male and female athlete of the 2022 edition of the Sir John Tarbat School Senior Athletic Meet respectively .

Sri Lanka School Athletics Association confirmed that 12 new records have been established at this year’s championship .

The award presentation ceremony was held under the patron

age of Nilupul De Silva, General Manager, Marketing of CBL Foods International Ltd., and Dr. Kusala Fernando , President of Sri Lanka School Athletics Association.

This is the tenth year that the Ritzbury came forward to sponsor Sir John Tarbat Schools Athletic Championship which is considered to be the oldest school athletics meet in the country .
