‘The Secret Seven’ and ‘The Five Find-Outers’, but she also devoted much of her time towards fundraising efforts. She also set up clubs for children to join and engage in fundraising activities themselves: the Busy Bees helped animals, the Famous Five Club raised funds for a children’s home, the Sunbeam Society helped visually-impaired children, and the Magazine Club raised funds for children with spastic cerebral palsy. They succeeded in raising a lot of support for charities that helped differently-abled children and the PDSA the poor, either free of charge or at cost. Blyton also raised awareness of charities and causes in her magazine.
