Abans Group fulfils its commitment to the community and child welfare through annual blood drive and school s

The Abans Group recently concluded two worthwhile CSR projects, its 12th annual school supplies donation and 15th annual blood drive at its Colombo 3 head office. Both initiatives are a testament to the Group’s commitment to community and child welfare.

Abans’ annual school supplies donation campaign is an ongoing CSR initiative that donates school requirements for the new school year to the children of Abans staff members. Organised by the Abans Warehouse team the initiative focuses on preschool to Grade 12 students, who were presented with school shoes, backpacks, lunch boxes, exercise books, stationery, and other school supplies.

“I encourage all young people to pursue their goals and dreams and strive to be responsible and conscientious citizens of Sri Lanka,” said Director Dr. Saroshi Dubash. She concluded her speech by reaffirming Abans’ steadfast commitment to ensuring that all children, regardless of their socioeconomic background, have access to quality education.

The annual blood drive is a CSR project organised by Abans PLC Forces and TOTO Sales Channels. Coordinated by a team of Forces and TOTO Sales Channel employees, it aims to satisfy the National Blood Bank’s urgent need for blood.

National Blood Bank is in constant need of blood for accident victims, haemophilia patients, surgeries, infants and patients battling cancer. Moreover, the National Blood Bank must continuously restock its blood supplies as blood has a short shelf life. Consequently, blood donation campaigns hosted by public and government entities are vital and provide blood crucial for lifesaving needs.

Members of the public joined the Abans’ large workforce in droves to donate blood, making the annual blood drive a massive success. All donors were served refreshments and received an attractive memento.

Abans Group continues to demonstrate its commitment to community and child welfare through such exemplary initiatives. It has a CSR policy in place that aims to assist the community and improve education in Sri Lanka while providing ongoing support to low-income students. The success of these initiatives is a testament to Abans’ generosity and compassion. The Group is grateful to all donors and volunteers who have supported these efforts and will continue to strive towards making a positive impact in the community.
