Dinuru, Viran shine in Matara’s win

A century by Diniru Abeywickramasinghe and Viran Chamuditha's fifty helped Matara record a close 15-run win over Galle Zone 3 in a high-scoring match of the Under-19 Provincial Youth League Limited Over Tournament played at Matara.

Diniru slammed an unbeaten 145 in 150 balls that included 12 boundaries and four sixes while Viran hit 63 in 85 balls with six boundaries and a six. The pair came to the rescue of the side when they were struggling on 67 for 7 in the 16th over by sharing a valuable 170-run stand for the eighth wicket to help Matara end with a formidable score of 270 for 9.
